How to get your Google review link
Two official ways to get the link that opens the “write a review” window directly, and how to test it before you print.
Your review link is a web address that takes customers straight to the window for rating your business on Google. No searching for your name, no mixing you up with a similar place nearby. It’s what a DSB Card or a QR code opens.
Option 1: from your Business Profile (easiest)
You’ll need to be an owner or manager of your business’s Google profile.
- Sign in to Google with the account that manages your business.
- Search for your business name. You’ll see your profile’s management panel.
- Tap “Ask for reviews” (or “Get more reviews”).
- Copy the link. It usually looks like
https://g.page/r/…/review.
That link is ready to use.
Option 2: with your Place ID
Every place on Google Maps has a unique identifier called a Place ID (it starts with ChIJ). With it you can build the direct link:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID
To find it, use the official “Place ID Finder” in the Google Maps developer documentation: type your business name and copy the code.
Our free tool builds the link for you and generates the QR code.
Test it before you print
- Open it on a phone (not just a computer).
- Try a phone that’s not signed in to the business account — that’s how your customers will see it.
- Check that your business appears along with the star rating window.
Common mistakes
- Copying the Maps “Share” link: it opens your business listing, not the review window. It works, but adds a step.
- Using another branch’s Place ID: if you have several locations, each has its own.
- Not re-testing after you change your business name or address.
